is set to provide more updates on the missing Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) next week. Fans of the show will remember that Lauren, a troubled young character, suddenly left earlier this year, leaving her love interest Bobby (Jack Carroll) worried when he discovered her flat unlocked and empty.

Lauren, who had a secret boyfriend before she left, was never seen leaving and it appears she didn't tell anyone about her plans to leave Weatherfield, except for Roy Cropper.

Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police, and kind-hearted Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has found himself under suspicion, particularly after he was spotted innocently cleaning Lauren's flat. Some people thought this proved his guilt, and he was recently arrested wrongly on suspicion of murdering his former employee.

As the mystery of Lauren's disappearance continues to grip the residents and viewers, the soap will be providing more updates in the coming week. In future episodes, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) receives a shocking notification on her phone - someone has posted the contact details of Lauren's mum online.

Roy is horrified as he reads the post and, against Evelyn Plummer's (Maureen Lipman) advice, he calls Lauren's mum, Kerry, and leaves a message expressing his sympathy. Later, after getting in touch with Kerry, a customer in the cafe makes snide remarks at Roy, implying he's responsible for Lauren's disappearance.

Bernie and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) are about to jump in and help Roy, who's been picked on by online trolls. Even though Bernie and David want to help, Roy feels bad because he thinks he's caused his mates trouble.

On Friday's show, Bobby was upset when he saw a story online about Lauren doing videos on O-Vidz. He showed Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who didn't get how the news people knew about it.

Bobby thought maybe Max's girlfriend Sabrina (Luana Santos) had told, so they went to find her.

Sabrina told Max and Bobby she didn't spill the beans about Lauren's videos and was hurt they thought she would. She then left in a huff, making Max feel sorry.

Later, Sabrina came back to tell Max she's too upset to be with someone who doesn't trust her, and they're done.

Fans on Twitter are now guessing if Sabrina is keeping Lauren safe. Before Lauren vanished, she had a secret boyfriend and some worrying marks on her arms.

One fan tweeted: "Sabrina is hiding Lauren which is why she's dumped Max. #corrie", another wrote: "I reckon Sabrina knows where Lauren is #corrie",

Someone else posted: "Sabrina knows something... #Corrie" and another said: "Sabrina is definitely hiding Lauren. She's very shifty-looking. #corrie."

However, other fans predict in a bizarre turn of events that Roy could be guilty of killing Lauren.

One fan said on Reddit: "The way he's getting on even I'm starting to think he killed Lauren! I know Roy struggles with social cues, but even he must see that walking around with a shovel and talking about how he had an understanding with Lauren is going to look." (sic)

Another agreed: "And he keeps referring to her in past tense and said something about who “killed” Lauren. I’m sure it’s all red herring but I hope someone calls him out on it at some point." (sic)

While a third went on: "If this turns out to be a brain tumor or dementia and the end of Roy, I'm going to be so sad, he deserves better."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
