Morning Live: Gethin Jones pays tribute to Kym Marsh's dad
BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones shared a bit of behind-the-scenes drama with his Instagram followers. On Friday, March 1, he revealed that the studio had suffered a power cut and they were waiting for it to be fixed.
Gethin, who was set to host the show with Sara Cox, told his 128k followers: "We've had a power cut this morning, waiting for it to be fixed, small talk is off the scale."
He then showed Sara on camera, saying: "She's got some daffodils she's happy."
Gethin then said on camera: "Good Morning, Happy St David's Day to you. We're happy to be here actually, we had a power cut about an hour ago didn't we? So we're not sure if we'll be with you at half nine but we're keeping everything crossed."
Sara crossed her fingers and joked: "We looked quite nice in that dull light, we looked much younger it was great."
In another post, Gethin showed how they were keeping spirits high amidst the chaos, posing behind a large bunch of daffodils.

Celebrating St David's Day, Gethin wished his followers a happy day with the Welsh greeting: "Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus! " This comes after an amusing moment on the show when Gethin and co-host Kym Marsh acknowledged the rarity of February 29, a date that only comes around every four years in a leap year.
Starting the show, Gethin said: "Welcome to Thursday's Morning Live on February 29, not something you get to say that often."
To which Kym replied: "It's not is it, hey I could ask you to marry me today."

Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh, the presenters of Morning Live, burst into laughter when they discussed leap day. Gethin responded with a chuckle, "Oh good lord," after which Kym teased: "Not again."
With joviality, Gethin added: "I'm glad a leap year only comes around every four years after that," before introducing their colleagues for the special show about leap day.
