Emmerdale: Moira calls ambulance as Mackenzie stabbed by Charity

Emmerdale's Mackenzie star Lawrence Robb is getting lots of love for asking fans to help with a special cause. He plays Mackenzie Boyd on the ITV soap, and his character has been in some really big stories lately.

Mackenzie has had a tough time in the show after he was unfaithful to his partner, Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins).

He had a secret fling with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), who ended up having a baby because of it. Then there was a scary car crash where he had to choose between saving Chloe or Charity.

After that, he got taken by Chloe's dad "Harry" (Robert Beck), but Charity saved him by shooting Harry to protect herself. Now, Charity is struggling with bad dreams and even hurt Mackenzie by accident by stabbing him in the stomach with a blade.

But don't worry, the actor Lawrence is doing just fine in real life. He went on Instagram to share a video with all his fans on Sunday.

In the video, Lawrence said: "This year I have decided to run the London Marathon. I'm running it for Samaritans".

He added: "It's a wonderful cause [and] I'm trying to raise as much money as possible to help people, to make people realise that they're not alone".

He also wrote a message saying: "London Marathon Run Alert!!! I'm going to ask you for your hard-earned money now."

"Link to my fundraiser is on my profile. @samaritanscharity. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible to help train volunteers to help anyone who's struggling to cope. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated! Big love all!!"

It comes after he opened up to Express.co.uk and other publications about his fears of being axed from the soap when he was told his character would be stabbed.

He explained: "The producers pitched it as though I was going to leave the show. They told me that Charity stabs Mackenzie and I was like I need to start looking for another job then!"

Luckily, his character survived the stabbing following surgery and Lawrence opened up on the excitement of filming the scenes.

He shared: "I was actually excited about having that because I've been on the show for a little while now and I've not got the chance to do this. Needless to say the novelty of lying in a hospital bed wore off pretty quickly but I've never done that."

Lawrence, who has been on the soap since 2020, added: "They pitched it as I was going to flatline at the end of one episode and everyone was going to be left wondering if I was going to die. So I was quite excited."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
