Corrie: Colson Smith opens up on Craig and Faye's relationship
Coronation Street favourite Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, is rumoured to be one of the stars set to appear in Celebrity Big Brother. It’s been heavily speculated that the 25-year-old has joined the line-up and already is emerging as a frontrunner to win.
According to a source, Big Brother bosses have been in talks with the soap star for the past few months. The insider told The Sun: “It looks like a done deal.
“They're thrilled he's keen to enter the nation's most famous house because he's a big name already loved by millions of viewers. They were hellbent on securing someone from Corrie as it's great cross-promotion for ITV.”
The source touched on Colson’s character in the soap being a huge favourite with viewers and revealed the actor is just as likeable and down to earth in real life. They added: “Don't be surprised if he ends up winning the whole thing.
“He's got all the ingredients of a Celeb BB champion." However, fans will have to wait a while longer to find out if Colson is entering the house as the reality show kicks off next Monday (March 4).
When approached by Express.co.uk, a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson said: "Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune in to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house."
Although soap fans have seen Colson on the cobbles since 2011 at the age of 13, he’s also ventured into reality TV in the past.
In 2022, the actor starred in ITV’s The Games, which saw him go head-to-head with the likes of Wes Nelson and former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas.
Along with Colson, there’s been a wide range of other celebrity names rumoured to be appearing in the upcoming show.

The likes of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Fern Britton and Chloe Brockett have all also been mentioned as potential housemates.
Returning to front the show will be AJ Odudu and Will Best, who presented the regular version of the programme last October.
Ahead of Celebrity Big Brother kicking off, the duo shared their excitement as they confessed not knowing who would be going into the house until they get out of the car.
Will said: “I couldn’t be more excited! Some of the most iconic moments from Big Brother throughout the years have come from the Celebrity Big Brother series.
“When people think of Big Brother nowadays they often think of the GC, they think of ‘David’s dead!’ These were all given to us by celebs.”
Echoing Will’s enthusiasm, AJ added: “I’m so excited! Off the back of the success of the civilian show, it’s amazing that we get to host the celebrity series.
“It’s created such iconic moments in the past - we can’t wait for the 2024 edition!”
Celebrity Big Brother starts Monday 4th March, 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
