What was your first TV memory?

It’s a really vivid one – staying up late to see the WWE Wrestlemania on pay-per-view. I had to stay up until midnight. Me, my brother and my sister made all our mattresses and duvets into a den. It was Edge and Matt Hardy and it was the best thing I’d ever seen.

Who was your first TV crush?

Hilary Duff who played Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel. Girls like her and Raven-Symoné blew my mind. They sang, they danced, they acted. They were out of this world.

What was your first TV appearance?

It was back in 2005, when I was eight, on a TV film called Titanic: Birth Of A Legend. I played the son of one of the men who died. I was too young to appreciate how cool it was to be in film with Charles Dance and Charles Lawson.

What is your favourite current show?

The Bear, that’s the show I recommend to people. The first series was just exquisite. Everything comes together perfectly, the acting, the directing, the tone. Also Succession, I’m gutted that it's over.

Which TV show would you take to a desert island?

I’d take Lost because it’s about a group of people stranded on an island, so there might be some tips; and secondly because there are a lot of episodes. It was the first show I decided to watch myself rather than watch because my mother or brother suggested it.

What TV show would you like to put out of its misery?

Naked Attraction. It’s crazy. But if it’s on in the background, it hooks you in.

Guiltiest TV pleasure?

I watch a lot of daytime TV and Bargain Hunt does it for me. I’ve always been interested in antiques. If I hadn’t been an actor I’d have been an antique dealer. My bucket list includes being a contestant on Bargain Hunt. Can you swing it for me?

What are you up to at the moment?

I’ve just finished filming a new six-part ITV series called Passenger. It’s a gritty Northern drama with a supernatural element. It’s eerie and sexy and darkly funny. I think people will enjoy it.

Passenger airs on ITVX next month before airing on ITV1.
