The 64-year-old said: "We've got some news just breaking, shocking news from the world of Showbiz and that is that Robin Windsor, who is a former dancer on Strictly, I knew him and indeed even danced with him as have my wife, has suddenly died."

Robin appeared in the BBC dance competition for four seasons and danced with celebrities such as Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley, and Deborah Meadan. His cause of death has not been revealed.

Tributes have been flooding in from across the country from former Strictly stars who knew Robin. Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: "I have just heard the tragic news my dear friend ’Bobby’ Robin Windsor has passed.

Fellow judge Anton du Beke also wrote on Instagram: "Absolutely devasted to hear the sad news about Robin, a person I’ve known for the best part of twenty five years - from a young competitor to a star of Strictly Come Dancing. In my eyes he was always a star. We’re going to miss you, Robin. x."

"Erin and I spent many years on the dancefloor with him. It's really tragic. I'm a little bit in shock." Brendan appeared on the call alongside fellow professional dancer Erin Boag.

He added: "He was lovely, he didn't have a bad word to say about anybody. He just loved being on the dance floor, hanging out with his friends. The true life and soul of the party."
