Steve Wright died suddenly at the age of 69 and the BBC continued to pay tribute to the legendary broadcaster over the weekend.
The DJ's pal Liza Tarbuck hosted a special episode in Steve's memory and asked listeners to light a candle in his honour today.
When opening the programme, she said: "Good morning to you, we are live in Wogan House. This is Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs without the chief… without our genius friend.
"So while you're getting a tissue I think it would be lovely if you lit him a candle.
"I make no apologies if I get upset during the next two hours and you shouldn't either."
Social media users took to X and praised Liza for her heartbreaking tribute to the veteran broadcaster.
@AnnieWorle penned: "Like many of you I have lit a candle and keep crying for a man I never met - such is the impact of an amazing talented man. Thank you Liza #SteveWright #lovesongs #lizatarbuck."
@Siany said: "What a beautiful but heartbreaking show. In floods but perfect."
@Gillian tweeted: "Wow, where did all those tears come from? Such an emotional couple of hours. Well done #lizatarbuck RIP#SteveWright."
@Sophie penned: "Crying my eyes out, well done #lizatarbuck on a beautiful tribute of how Steve Wright touched so many lives for many years, a source of comfort and familiarity. Not been this sad since Princess Diana."
@Mike commented: "#lizatarbuck doing a great job paying tribute to #SteveWright. Not ashamed to say I'm in f**king bits. His shows were a huge part of most of my life, a friend I never met. R.I.P."
