Last week saw the band play a previously unheard song called ˜Unconditional at the first Manchester date. A representative for the group told Consequence that the track was “partially written and demoed during home studio sessions years ago “ but ultimately left unfinished”.

NME gave that set a four-star review, writing: “Approaching 30 years as a band, Foo Fighters have adapted in the face of any adversity, ensuring their stadium show remains cohesive, exemplary and simply untouchable.

“While others from their time might begin to creep towards legacy act territory, Foo Fighters remain as relevant and imperious as ever “ they re only going to need even more stadiums to fill.”

In Glasgow, frontman Grohl was joined on stage by his daughter Violet. He also sipped from a bottle of Buckfast while the unofficial national anthem ˜Flower Of Scotland was sung by the crowd.

Ahead of the tour kicking off, Grohl attended one of Liam Gallagher’s ‘Definitely Maybe’ shows in London “ where the former Oasis frontman dedicated ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ to him.

Foo Fighters released their 11th and latest studio album, ˜But Here We Are , last June before  playing a surprise hits-filled set at Glastonbury 2023.
