Viral drill rapper Slim Jesus has reflected on the public reaction to him rejecting  an offer from Diddy to sign him to Bad Boy Records.

In 2015, the Ohio rapper blew up on YouTube for his boisterous breakthrough track ‘Drill Time’. At the time, he was viewed as the genre’s next big star and was co-signed by drill legends Chief Keef and Lil Durk, leading to labels engaged in a bidding war to sign Slim. Diddy was one of the many label executives interested in furthering the then-17-year-old’s career.

This weekend (April 6), Slim shared a screenshot of a September 2015 tweet from the Bad Boy founder on Instagram, which read: “[One] million waiting on Slim Jesus when he come[s] to Bad Boy Records. #DriveSober.”

Slim Jesus never took the deal and Diddy quickly deleted the tweet shortly after.

In light of recent sexual abuse allegations against Diddy and the raid on his homes regarding a sex trafficking investigation, the 26-year-old remarked, “They called me crazy when I ignored this years ago.”

Last November, the singer and former Bad Boy signee Casandra Cassie Ventura claimed Diddy raped and physically abused her during their 11-year-long relationship. The case was later settled out of court.

A week later, two new allegations by two different women also came out with one claiming that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her  and the other  alleging that Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping the plaintiff and her friend in 1990 or 1991 “ with Diddy allegedly turning violent days later.

Producer Rodney ˜Lil Rod Jones sued Combs in February for sexually assaulting him, having parties where sex workers and underage girls were present, and coercing him to sleep with prostitutes. Diddy replied, saying Jones claims were pure fiction”. He denies any wrongdoing.

At the height of his fame, Slim Jesus shared a video of him burning one of many contracts presented to him. A little fun fact a lot of y all don t know: I [have] been had offers from the same bullshit ass labels signing your favourite rappers,” he said in the video. “And you know how I feel about em? Fuck a label. We getting independent money, bitch.”

The rapper’s popularity stirred controversy within the drill community. When being interviewed by hip-hop journalist DJ Vlad, Slim revealed that his raps were not authentic and he did not commit the crimes he portrayed in his music.

“On the street shit, I got homies that are in that shit and I know people who are and people around me. [But,] I’m not out here catching bodies and shit, obviously. I’m fucking smart,” he confessed.

In other news, Ashton Kutcher shared that there is a lot I can t tell about Diddy‘s infamous parties in a resurfaced interview. Also, an old clip of Usher commenting on his experiences at Diddy ˜s home as a 13-year-old went viral, saying There were very curious things taking place and I didn t necessarily understand it .

Meanwhile, Diddy re-shared the seven-minute-long music video for his 1998 track ‘Victory’, in which he is running away from Los Angeles police.
