Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2's latest update officially added a new Operation and enemy type, but it appears another, unfinished feature, the Research Centre, also made its way into developer Saber Interactive's grimdark shooter.
As spotted on Reddit, players have discovered a new Thousand Sons emblem in the game's Heraldry Editor, which itself states it can be unlocked by completing challenges in the Research Centre. With the press of a button, players can then directly jump to the Research Centre UI screen.
What exactly this unannounced feature entails is still under wraps, but it appears that players will be able to unlock models for various Space Marine 2 factions--the Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Tyranids, and Thousand Sons--with a new form of currency. Unlocking the models appears to then grant other cosmetic rewards, like the currently unlockable Thousand Sons emblem. It's also possible players will be able to inspect the models in greater detail, with them serving as a new form of collectable.
