Thanks to "a really strong response on Xbox" for Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix seems committed to launching more of its games on the console. Though Naoki Yoshida, the director and producer of the MMO, didn't offer any specific examples of what could arrive next on Xbox Series X|S.
Eurogamer caught up with Yoshida at Gamescom earlier this month and chatted about how Final Fantasy XIV has performed on Xbox since the full game released in March. "I'm happy to say that we've seen a really strong response on Xbox; we've seen communities starting to establish and now they're growing," Yoshida said.
On top of Final Fantasy XIV's success on Xbox, Yoshida pointed out that Square Enix revealed a new aggressive multiplatform plan going forward in May. "So now we are moving towards the policy of releasing our games on a multiplatform basis, and we really want as many players as possible to play our titles," the developer said. "So with Final Fantasy XIV as the starting point, we do want to release more Square Enix games on Xbox, and there will be more of our titles released on Xbox."
