Market research firm Circana has released a new report offering insight into the state of games-based consumerism in the United States. Executive director Mat Piscatella posted the report on Twitter and revealed the top 10 video games by weekly active users for the week ending on July 27 for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
EA Sports College Football 25 remains strong on console, with it retaining its third-place ranking on Xbox, while it also moved up a spot on PlayStation. Now, the top three for both consoles are EA Sports College Football 25, Fortnite, and Call of Duty HQ. The top three on Steam didn't change from last week, which are still Counter-Strike 2, Elden Ring, and Once Human.
The First Descendent is still going strong on console, keeping its rank 7 slot, but fell quite a bit on Steam from rank 4 to rank 9. Piscatella also provided some stats that weren't shown in the top 10 rankings, such as the Marvel Rivals closed beta ranking at 20 and 7 Days to Die being at rank 11 on Steam, barely missing the top 10. Its weekly active users jumped up by 91% from last week.
7 Days to Die had been in early access since 2013, but launched in 1.0 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S last week, which would explain the sudden spike in interest after more than 10 years.
