Following the brand's annual tradition of releasing Lunar New Year-themed watches, Swatch has unveiled two new models in honor of the forthcoming year of the snake.
The first style is the Golden Red Bamboo piece characterized by a polished gold-colored case that continues into the dial. An ivory leather and textile band is embroidered with orange bamboo plants and a golden snake coiling itself throughout.
With a larger 47mm dial, the Blue and Golden Lithe Dancer features similar decals printed onto the matte blue band. The oversized dial is outlined with a golden case and accented with a bright orange seconds arm and pusher. Both the watches have glow-in-the-dark arms and 3 bar water resistance, facilitating use in various conditions.
Though Swatch tastefully draws inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics, the designs boast a contemporary flare in the combination of tonal graphics, irregular art composition and sleek hardware. The mixture of modern touches and ancient inspiration carries over the ethos of the wood snake–a symbol of growth and adaptability.
For a limited time, the Year of the Snake Swatch collection is available at Swatch stores worldwide and the brand's web store.
