Jil Sander, the Queen of Less, is telling her life's story in an all-new book aptly titled Jil Sander by Jil Sander. From Prestel Publishing, the 360-page binding features a beautiful layout with 525 color illustrations designed by Irma Boom, one of the globe's leading book creators.
"For decades the name Jil Sander has evoked the philosophy of less is more—a minimalist aesthetic using highest quality materials and employing exquisite craftsmanship to the effect of poetic purity," reads a statement from the publisher.
Filled with archival material and historical moments, the book recounts Sander's breakthrough story, charting how she first entered fashion in the 1960s and grew her label to be one of the most prestigious in fashion by the '80s and '90s. The book touches on all aspects of her career, including her venture into makeup, as well as her collaboration with Uniqlo, with which she created her +J.A sub-label.
"The result is an elegant manifestation of the Jil Sander name—a story of integrity and grit, sumptuously packaged and timeless," the publisher concluded.
Jil Sander by Jil Sander is now available to shop on Prestel Publishing's webstore for $125 USD. Take a look at the design in the gallery above.
