Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher is gearing up to walk down the aisle with fiancée .
“I’m taking the lead with that,” Garcia told Us Weekly exclusively at The Hollywood Christmas Parade supporting Marine Toys for Tots on Sunday, December 1. “We’re finishing out baseball season and my college degree. I graduate in two weeks.”
Once Garcia finishes up school, she’s ready to “go full wedding mode” for the foreseeable future.
Knack, 27, proposed to Garcia in January, getting down on one knee in Laguna Beach. He told Us about pulling off the massive surprise — and making sure that Garcia had “no idea” they were about to get engaged.
“I tried to throw her off the entire day. I had her best friends helping me set it all up,” the MLB star shared. “That way, when we finally got to the spot, we’d be able to do it without any issue.”
Sometimes, the best laid plans don’t work out, but it still ended up being a “perfect” proposal.
“The first place that I had [the proposal] planned at didn’t work out. They wouldn’t let us do it there,” Knack explained. “We moved it down to the first beach she took me to out here in California, down in Laguna Beach, so it ended up being perfect. It actually caught her off guard, which was my favorite thing.”
Knack also told Us about Garcia being a “huge” support system as his baseball career continues to flourish. (Knack and the Dodgers won the 2024 World Series in October.)
“She has helped me a ton in the last couple years. Being there with me, traveling with me and just supporting [me] all the way through,” he said. “It’s a huge game changer in your life to be able to have that support system, no matter where we are.”
Knack called Garcia “very fierce,” noting that she’s always there for the people that she loves.
“She shows that love 10 times back,” he said. “She’s just a really good human being and great person to have in your family.”
Garcia couldn’t help but share her favorite things about Knack as well.
“His work ethic and his devotion to everything he does. He doesn’t half do anything,” Garica said when asked what she admires the most about her fiancé. “He puts his full self into it.”
The Hollywood Christmas Parade airs on The CW Network Saturday, December 14, at 8 p.m. ET.
