TikTok star had an emotional Thanksgiving.
“Thank you to all of the kind people that reached out inviting me to their homes and sending sweet messages,” Bader, 29, shared via Instagram Stories on Thursday, November 28, alongside a photo of herself crying. “I am definitely an oversharer so for once I’m not going to but sometimes you need to set your boundaries and do what’s best for you and your mental health.”
The internet personality revealed that she was spending the holiday alone, which was “not the plan” initially. She asked her followers for restaurant recommendations in New York City so that she could have a Thanksgiving dinner.
Bader also uploaded a lengthy TikTok video dedicated to anyone else spending Thanksgiving alone.
“For whatever reason that anyone has to spend it alone — I know there could be so many reasons — for me, I won’t share. I just needed to set boundaries with myself. That was best for my mental health,” she explained on Thursday. “I think we feel forced a lot of the time when it comes to holidays. We feel like we need to be with, maybe surrounded by people that don’t make us feel the best about ourselves or don’t make us feel mentally well.”
Bader stated that she “needed to be alone” but was still “very upset” about it.
@remibader Thanksgiving for one please 🍷🦃
“[I] just couldn’t believe that my thanksgiving isn’t going to be the same as it always was, but I just switched my mindset,” she continued. “I decided that I was going to go out to dinner alone.”
However, she ended up ordering Thanksgiving dinner takeout from a NYC restaurant. Bader gave her followers a look at the dinner, which cost $64, and thanked her followers for their sweet messages.
“I just want to say to anyone else. Maybe you’re going through some s—, because we all are and personal stuff, your thanksgiving does not need to look like everyone else’s,” she concluded. “I love you, I’m thankful for you, happy Thanksgiving.”
Bader has been candid with followers about her life — and the changes she’s made — over the last year. In March, she cried in a since-deleted TikTok video after telling fans that she was single.
Bader started dating in the summer of 2022, revealing this past March that he broke up with her via text. Bader has since explained her decision to delete the TikTok detailing their split.
“I am not going to be the person to badmouth someone online that’s been in my life for almost two years,” the influencer explained in March. “This is someone I thought I was gonna marry, this was my best friend. I’ve never been so close to someone in my life.”
At the time, Bader said she was focused on “not letting this break me” and wanted to stay “positive” — and she has.
