Coulier met Bring in 2005, over a decade after he and his ex-wife, , ended their two-year marriage in 1992. (The exes welcomed their only child, son Luc, in 1990.)
Coulier popped the question to Bring after nine years of dating in 2014 and the two wed later that year. “I’m a lucky man — since 7-2-2005. ❤️ mi familia,” the Full House alum captioned a July 2020 Instagram pic of Bring with their two dogs, Shorty and Ziggy.
In November 2024, Coulier announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Discussing the news during an episode of Today, Coulier said Bring didn’t believe the news at first.
“She said, ‘Have you heard anything?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I have cancer.’ And she said, ‘C’mon, quit making jokes.’ And I said, ‘No, I did,’” he shared. “And once that settled in, it was a gut punch.”
He went on to praise Bring for being a source of support amid his cancer battle, stating, “She has been so incredible from when we first got the news. … She has been there every step of the way.”

2005
The pair met in 2005 after Coulier accidentally tripped the photographer during a vacation to Montana. “Melissa has been my best friend since I met her nine years ago,” the actor exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2014.
Bring poked fun at their meet cute in a June 2017 Instagram post, captioning a black-and-white snap of the two of them, “12 years ago today this guy tripped me and I fell for him, literally! ❤️.”

Bring praised Coulier via Instagram after the TV personality opened up about his struggles with alcohol. “SO proud of you. I love you and your strength so much!! ❤️❤️,” she wrote in the comments of Coulier’s post, which featured a snap of his face covered in blood after falling while drunk.
In an Instagram post of her own, Bring wrote, “Yesterday, @dcoulier vulnerably and beautifully opened up about one of the most transformative parts in this journey, sobriety. While opening up about his cancer diagnosis, Coulier told People he and Bring consulted friends within the medical field to create “a very specific plan for how they were going to treat this.”
Reflecting on breaking the news to his wife, he added: “I looked at how those words affected [Melissa] and I thought, you know what, I’m going to be strong throughout this, not just for me, but I’m going to be strong for her.”
