Hypebeast lit up the city of Hong Kong for the first ever Hypefest Hong Kong, which took place over the weekend of November 9 and November 10.
The two-day event marked Hypebeast’s largest event in Hong Kong to date, and attracted over 28,000 attendees at the Central Harbourfront Event Space despite the foreshadow of a wet and windy weekend. Hypefest Hong Kong 2024 was headlined by international acts Peggy Gou and French electronic music duo Justice, the latter of whom received two GRAMMY nominations for their latest album during the same weekend. A diverse combination of genres also joined the lineup with the likes of international and regional performers such as ADOY, Awich, Rich The Kid, d4vd, sunkis and more.
Festival-goers were also treated with jam-packed curated experiences, including Coin Parking Delivery’s larger-than-life inflatable art installation, live-art painting from SIMON, ASICS SportStyle’s immersive digital installation, Timberland’s “TIMBS it YOURSELF” customization workshop with Hypefest-exclusive shoe accessories and Mercedes-Benz’s G-Class display. Brand pop-ups from the likes for 432hz, LeeeeeeToy, PabePabe, Raw Emotions, Ballaholic and COSTS kept attendees entertained and busy throughout the weekend with interactive carnival games that featured special prizes. Limited-edition and exclusive collections like Peggy Gou’s PEGGY GOODS collection, Justice merchandise and the LABUBU figure created by Kasing Lung with 432hz quickly sold out within the two days, and select collaborations with Jiyong Kim, PIET x Oakley, Prodip Leung, Wing Shya’s capsule and BE@RBRICK Audio stood out as major highlights.
Attendees made sure to stay replenished and energized with Hypefest Hong Kong’s food village. Participating in the event were BaseHall presents: Draftland, Bengal Brothers, Devil’s Tea, Dionysus & Loong, Honbo, Jeonpo Meat Shop, Snack Baby and SONNY’s, all of whom presented a variety of their signature dishes and exclusive menu items.
