and are both creatives at heart, and they have different visions for their daughter Piper’s nursery.
Scott, 46, and his wife Phan, 39, have an ongoing debate over what to do with the closet doors for their youngest child’s nursery, they told Us Weekly exclusively.
“She wants me to remove the closet doors for the kids’ rooms like the playroom,” the Property Brothers star told Us at the 2024 Environmental Media Association Awards Gala. “And I’m like, ‘No. We need to be able to tuck away some stuff.’ So this is a big debate back-and-forth.”
Phan, who serves as creative director of Drew and brother ’s production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment, sees it differently.
“I want to open it up and make it into a kids’ nook,” she explained. “No heavy closet doors so that their fingers don’t get caught.”
While Phan’s approach is more safety-conscious, Drew calls himself more of “a function guy.”
“I’m like, ‘No, we need the storage.’ And there also has to be somewhere that we put when we cycle stuff through for the kids,” he said. “I don’t like the look of no closet doors. It’s like back in college.”
Drew and Phan welcomed Piper, their second child, in June. They also share son Parker, 2.
“We are over the moon,” Drew shared via his and Jonathan’s website on June 5, announcing Piper’s arrival. “Piper is healthy, Linda is healthy, and seeing Parker excited to be a big brother is adorable.”
Drew added that Parker has been eager to help his mom and dad out with the new baby.
“He’s curious, helpful and maybe a little jealous,” Drew wrote. “We got him his own baby doll so he can take care of his baby while we take care of ours.”
Parker and Piper even coordinated their Halloween costumes, both dressing as Max from Where the Wild Things Are.
“And then we’re wild things. They’re our bosses,” Drew added.
Drew also gave fans a peek at the family’s costumes via his Instagram channel, including a video of him and Linda constructing Max’s boat, with the family of four posed at the end on their front lawn.
“You can find us where the wild things are!” he captioned the post.
As for the closet door, the couple hasn’t reached a resolution just yet.
“If we ever get the photo of it actually finished, how we want it finished, we’ll see who won the debate,” Drew teased.
“To be continued,” Phan said.
