Irish Whiskey brand Redbreast has just released its latest addition to its family: the Redbreast 18-Year-Old.
Coming as the brand's newest permanent fixture, the drink has been crafted to offer a unique twist on the classic Redbreast style. Additionally, the drink has won a slew of awards in the past -- including the The Irish Whiskey Masters, Beverage Testing Institute, International Spirits Challenge, and International Wine & Spirit Competition -- and this new 18-year-old iteration of its whiskey is looking to move in the same direction.
Key details for the drink include the use of butts and ex-bourbon barrels, while the whiskey also embraces vanilla sweetness, toasted wood, and dried fruits; according to Redbreast, the drinking experience is also elevated with the inclusion of blackcurrant and raspberry notes.
Speaking about the launch, Master Blender David McCabe says: “This new addition to the Redbreast core range beautifully bridges the gap between our older and younger offerings. We wanted to unlock a new taste profile for the Redbreast permanent range while still offering something that feels distinctly Redbreast in its style. By incorporating the cream sherry casks, we've created a whiskey that boasts a rich profile of dark chocolate, blackcurrants, and hazelnuts. This expression not only honors our heritage but also showcases our commitment to innovation in Irish whiskey making.”
The Redbreast 18 Year Old will be available from September 12 via the brand's official website.
