Update: With much of Nike Basketball's focus on the Kobe 4, 6 and 8 Protro, the Kobe 5 Protro has only recently started to pick up steam again. First spotted this year in this "X-Ray" colorway courtesy of Vanessa Bryant, which was initially thought to possibly just be a PE, we now have another look at the pair and some tentative release details. A better look at the sneaker via the Instagram post embedded below reveals the skeleton pattern going to the midfoot with a color arrangement of various dark and bright blues throughout. Release is currently expected to take place this October via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $190 USD.

Original Story: A new Nike Kobe 5 Protro has surfaced, courtesy of Vanessa Bryant.
Vanessa recently took to her Instagram to unveil a never-before-seen Kobe 5 Protro dubbed "X-Ray." A nod to one of Nike and Kobe's most iconic t-shirts, specifically the "Broken Not Beaten" one released in 2010 after Bryant won his fifth NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryan famously wore the t-shirt which featured an "X-Ray" graphic of his hand, pinpointing the injuries he had sustained over two decades in the league. His championship rings were also depicted on each finger.
Taking after the blue-hued x-ray, the shoe's design appears to take inspiration from the color scheme, arriving in a blue upper and what seems to be a glow in the dark outsole. No official details have been announced just yet. Neither Vanessa nor Nike has confirmed if this will be a general release, friends or family iteration or perhaps even a PE. Take a look above or here.
