'Wes Anderson: The Exhibition' to Land in London

For the first time ever, the whimsical world of Wes Anderson is museum bound. Opening next year at London’s Design Museum, the exhibition will chronicle the evolution of Anderson’s iconic style, from his early projects in the 1990s to his most recent Oscar-winning films, as fans of the filmmaker will get the chance to take an up-close look at a comprehensive retrospective of his work.

Produced in partnership with La Cinémathèque Française, Wes Anderson: The Exhibition will delve into Anderson’s unique cinematic universe, showcasing an array of props, costumes, and set designs from his films. Visitors will be treated to behind-the-scenes insights, as well as items from the director’s personal collection, offering an intimate glimpse into the creative process, narrative approach, and meticulous craftsmanship that define his filmography.

The exhibition celebrates the director’s distinct cinematic style, known for its satisfying symmetry, pastel color palettes, and eccentric characters. While Anderson is best known for precise shots, clean title cards, and deadpan charm, the exhibition charts his turning points and hallmarks through the last several decades. From the grit of early cult-classics such as Bottle Rocket (1996) to his more aesthetically-inclined works like The French Dispatch (2021), Anderson’s films have carved out a genre of their own. Honoring the spontaneity of Bottle Rocket (1996), Mr. Fox's existential adventure, the delightfully twee scout uniforms from Moonrise Kingdom (2012), and everything in between, these elements reflect Anderson’s enduring influence on cinema in some of the most visually compelling films of recent times.

Wes Anderson: The Exhibition will be on view at the Design Museum in Kensington, London from November 21, 2025 through May 5, 2026. In the meantime, the museum will host The World of Tim Burton later next month, just in time for Halloween.
