Future's latest album Mixtape Pluto has earned him his third No. 1 release on the Billboard 200 this year.
Since its release, Future has sold 129,000 equivalent album units, which Billboard reported as a chart breakout first. The album is also his third No. 1 in six months, marking it his 11th No. 1 album to ever land on the Billboard 200 chart. The album released just 10 days ago, and was announced a week before the drop.
Earlier this year, Future also earned No. 1 albums with his albums We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You -- both of which were made with Metro Boomin. While songs for the new album has been minimal, the songs were streamed upwards of 156.62 million times. Billboard has also noted that the last time an artist was able to rack up three No. 1 albums in the span of six months, was the Glee cast with its chart-topping soundtracks. However, discounting Glee, the Beatles were the only ones who were able to achieve this feat. With this new stat, Future now ties Eminem Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Ye (formerly Kanye West) for the fifth-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200, dating all the way back to March 1956. Those with more No. 1s are The Beatles, JAY-Z, Taylor Swift and Drake.
