Fresh off the back of announcing the PlayStation 5 Pro, Sony has just unveiled a limited edition collection to celebrate 30 years of PlayStation.
The aptly titled 'PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection' is being released on November 21 and will see the brand new PlayStation 5 Pro decked out in shades of grey in tribute to the color that adorned the original PlayStation from 1994. The limited edition '30th Anniversary' PlayStation 5 Pro bundle will come with a digital PS5 Pro console and several matching, limited edition accessories, including a DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller and a DualSense Charging Station, all in the limited edition retro grey. The bundle will also come with a grey Console Cover, allowing users who want to upgrade to a disc version to do so with a matching grey instead of the standard white that's currently available. Other things found in the bundle include a Vertical Stand, a limited edition poster (1 of 30 designs), four PlayStation face button-shaped cable ties and – most excitingly – an original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing.
Don't sleep, though, because there are only 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro bundle and – best of all – each will have its number individually etched onto the console.
Sony is also releasing a non-Pro anniversary edition PlayStation 5 bundle. This features almost all of the same items as the PS5 Pro bundle, however only one controller – you get a regular DualSense, but not a DualSense Edge. Along with this bundle Sony is dropping a PlayStation Portal Remote Player in the anniversary colors – and we have to admit, it looks pretty cool.
Although no prices have been revealed yet, Sony has already released details of how fans can purchase. Pre-orders start next week, September 26, for the PlayStation 5 Pro Console bundle, PlayStation Portal Remote Player and DualSense Edge Wireless Controller, and will be open to users with a PlayStation Network account and only in regions where direct.playstation.com is available (for those regions without this service, Sony says pre-orders will begin on the same date at select participating retailers). The DualSense Wireless Controller is also open to pre-order on September 26, but will be available via select retailers without the need to have a PlayStation Network account. Those interested in purchasing the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition bundle have to wait until October 10 when, like the regular DualSense, select retailers will have the pack available for pre-order.
