A pristine 1987 Buick GNX, showing just 26 miles on the odometer, is now up for auction on Bring A Trailer. This specific GNX is number 450 of only 547 units produced during the single model year, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item.
Finished in classic black over a two-tone black and Sand Gray interior, the car has been in long-term storage before its current owner acquired it in 2013. The GNX is powered by a turbocharged 3.8L V6 engine, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, delivering a factory-rated output of 276 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle also features a limited-slip differential and GNX-specific enhancements including heat-extracting fender vents, composite wheel arch flares and a three-piece rear spoiler.
Cosmetic and performance upgrades were developed in partnership with McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC. The car includes 16-inch cross-lace wheels with GNX-branded center caps, Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires, and enhanced suspension and braking components.
The interior showcases black and Sand Gray cloth upholstery, Turbo 6 embroidered headrests, and various comfort amenities such as a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a Delco cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer. A plaque on the dashboard denotes its unique GNX number.
At the time of writing, this GNX with exceptionally low mileage has a current highest bid of just over $150,000 USD, with seven days still left on the auction.
