California-based Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle brand Albino & Preto has unveiled a new collaborative capsule with Hawaii-based brands FITTED and Sig Zane Designs.
The collection is focused on championing the indigenous people of Hawaii, paying tribute to the islands with items like a martial arts gi inspired by the red dirt hue of the soil, alongside other apparel items that tap into various earth tones inspired by the water and trees of the region.
Notably, the collection features an underlying circular pattern, designed to represent ikigai, a Japanese concept that means your "reason for being." Albino & Pretothis shared that the collaborative capsule combines the values of each brand, namely: "Infinite Pursuit: Dedication, Education and Intention."
Overall, the capsule includes a range of streetwear as well as martial arts workwear items featuring a camo print liner inspired by the natural phenomenon of crown shyness, where the crowns of fully stocked trees do not touch each other, forming a canopy with channel-like gaps. In the same sense, Albino & Preto shared that while each of the involved brands navigates different paths, they all share similar core principles that overlap and create harmony, something it hopes to reflect in the capsule.
