The single-pot still whiskey is packed with history, debuting an exclusive recipe with the last remaining droplets from the Old Midleton Distillery, which closed in 1975. As the brand's oldest liquor ever made, the 49-year-old drink has developed fruity notes of peach, apricot, and dates with sugary undertones of frosted almonds and treasured wood.
After the first few sips, Midleton Very Rare's Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Five whiskey envelops the senses with herbal tea and dark chocolate contrasted by spiced anise and ginger touches. The taste of salted caramel and toffee apples arises throughout the experience, packaged inside handblown glass bottles produced by Ireland's Waterford Crystal. The scored container dons frosted accents and gold-plated finishes, housed in an oak burr cabinet designed by John Galvin.
