Omar Gandhi Architects has revealed its latest design masterpiece: a colossal coastal retreat in Nova Scotia, called Rockbound.

"The clients for Rockbound had a unique vision - a refuge from their busy lives, a shelter from the outside world, yet intimately connected to the ever-changing beauty of the bay," the firm stated in a release. Located on a rocky Canadian shoreline, the home was built around its stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, with a forward-minded design model that includes "naturally weathering characteristics" that will let the building age gracefully.

The 4,100-square-foot property includes three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Notably, the master bedroom seemingly hovers above the primary living rooms as a "quiet sanctuary." Across the home, Rockbound's decks offer a smooth transition from indoor to outdoor, allowing its clients to take in the elements surrounding the building from under large covers.

The home's central living space runs parallel to the water, providing several viewing points of the massive ocean and the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse across the bay. The house sits on a system of micro-piles, which redistributed loads after a bedrock seam threatened to derail the building's construction. The house's steel and wood frame prioritizes durability, with enough strength to resist hurricane-force winds.
