Sony has rolled out its latest update for the PlayStation 5 after a period of beta. Sharing patch notes, the company detailed the subtle changes coming to the system’s software.
Perhaps the most noticeable is the new ability to alter the brightness of the console’s power indicator, the LED light emitted from the tiny gap between the black interior and the white planks on either side of it. Users can head to their settings to make the light more or less brighter.
Also included in the update is improved sound for DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers. Sony says that the controllers can produce higher volume sounds, extending to in-game sounds and voice chat audio. The mic quality has been revamped to better support using voice chat, equipping AI to filter out background noise.
The PlayStation 5 will also allow for pointers and emoji reactions when a user has shared their screen, packs in Unicode’s new emojis and has overall improved messages and usability across screens.
