Continuing to expand on its architect-designed-watches venture, Lebond has unveiled its latest timepiece with 2011 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, Souto de Moura.
In 2023, the company released its first collaborative wristwatch with renowned architect, Álvaro Siza, which featured a square-shaped design inspired by Siza’s Leça swimming pool. Similar to last time, Lebond invited Moura to devise a wristwatch that is reflective of his architectural codes. The Portuguese architect is known for his consistent and highly recognizable style that instills abstract minimalism with a juxtaposing sense of serenity through the incorporation of local materials.
Offering in Original and Dark, the collaborative timepiece arrives in a classic round shape, while its dial is given an intriguing twist as it’s rotated at a 30-degree angle. To top off the already baffling visual effect, the crown is also adjusted to align with the new 3 o’clock position. Measuring 38.5mm in case width, the watch features a slim profile with an under-average thickness of 7.6mm. It also weighs light as it’s only 46 grams in total weight.
The Swiss-made, ETA 2892-A2 automatic movement is fitted as the ticking heart of the timepiece. Running at 28,800vph, the caliber is equipped with 50 hours of power reserve. The movement’s sleek beauty can be admired through the watch’s sapphire crystal caseback, which comes with Moura’s signature.
The two variants of the Souto De Moura timepieces are available to order via Lebond’s official website for the price of €2,700 EUR (around $2,930 USD).
