London-based outerwear brand Vollebak has just unveiled its all-new Mars Hoodie, with the design double-layered and 3D sculpted from a multi-dimensional material that houses a unique texture and design based on the dunes on Mars.

Vollebak prides itself on the inspiration it takes from otherworldly landscapes, having researched outer space for the past five years to discover how clothing can start to solve some of the challenges humanity could face in the future.

Previous designs -- such as the Martian Aerogel Jacket -- from the brand have been crafted from the same advanced aerogel and parachutes that land Rovers on Mars -- and this time, Vollebak is using NASA’s pioneering Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter -- which photographed the Corduroy Dunes in stunning detail for the first time in 2018 -- as its main point of inspiration.

For the all-new Mars Hoodie, the garment has been shrunken and turned into a 3D hoodie that's programmed by computers and knitted by robots. Additionally, the hoodie's material has been created in collaboration with Byborre -- a fabric mill best known for its fully transparent supply chain -- and is crafted using 40% fewer greenhouse gases, 30% less water, and almost 27% less power per kilogram than other conventionally made materials.

Meanwhile, the hoodie's color scheme merges hues of black, grey and tan -- in reference to Mars' volcanic glass and powdered basalt from eroded volcanoes -- and is crafted to make it appear as if it's computer-generated until wearers get up close to it.

You can take a closer look at the new Mars Hoodie from Vollebak above and it's available to shop via the brand's official website now.
