21 Savage and Brandy To Join Burna Boy for Historical Grammy Performance

Leading up to the 2024 Grammys, Nigerian artist Burna Boy has been announced as a key performer at the awards show. The performance is a historic feat for the artist as he will be the first Afrobeats artist to ever perform at the Grammys.

Newer announcements also indicate that rapper 21 Savage and R&B artist Brandy would join Burna Boy on stage. It is presumed that the trio will perform the 2023 hit, "Sittin' on Top of the World" together at the show. In a new episode of Rolling Stone's Music Now podcast, Raj Kapoor shared the news of the performance. It is also announced that Fatimah Robinson, renowned dancer, music director and videographer who has worked with the likes of Michael Jacks, Mary J Blige and most recently with Beyoncé for her RENAISSANCE tour, will be creative directing the performance.

The collaboration will also mark 21 Savage's debut Grammy performance. Brandy also returns to the stage for the first time since the '90s, a momentous occasion for not only Burna Boy but the R&B icon, as well. This year, Burna Boy has been nominated for four Grammys for "Sittin' on Top of the World" for Best Melodic Rap Performance, "I Told Them..." for Best Global Music Album, "Alone" for Best Global Music Performance" and "City Boys" for Best African Music Performance. With his four nominations, Burna Boy becomes the most nominated Nigerian artist in the 66th Grammy Awards. In 2021, his album Twice As Tall won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album.
