Yosuke Aizawa's White Mountaineering has become synonymous with modern Japanese wardrobes, crafting tech-forward menswear that speaks for itself. The cult brand returned to Paris Fashion Week, closing the fifth day with its Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
Aizawa traveled through time across 45 looks that detailed raw human emotion, reflecting his feelings of touring through the Japanese countryside on motor vehicles. White Mountaineering looked to authentic human movement, packing its bags and heading far away for FW24. The "Destination" collection opened with a practical black trench coat and form-fitting grey trousers, carrying diamond-printed luggage that doubles as handbags. Paneled motorcycle jackets and sleek puffer jackets followed, seeing Christmas come early with festive jumpers. Checkered blazers and wool tops brace against heavy winds, paired with elegant leather gloves for increased protection on the move.
White Mountaineering hit the breaks at university, delivering its own branded uniforms for pupils far and wide. "W"-embroidered varsity jackets and graduate crewnecks walked with honor, while sherpa gilets, multi-pocketed coats, and vibrant flannel uniforms closed the collection.
White Mountaineering publicized two new collaborations on the runway, revealing its Reebok partnership with patent leather Club C sneakers. Three Umbro looks kept minimalism at the forefront with all-black designs that were subtly polished.
