serpentwithfeet has officially made his electrifying return to the music scene, dropping off "Damn Gloves", which sees the likes of Ty Dolla $ign and South African artist Yanga YaYa, as well as offering a major update regarding his forthcoming album. Entitled GRIP, the enigmatic musician's next album is slated to drop early next year.

"Hold you closer, closer than those damn gloves / Kiss you longer longer than a opera / If we keep on dancing we gon’ make love / Hold you closer, closer than those damn gloves," he delivers on the chorus – live from the dimly-lit dance floor in the cut's corresponding video, which was directed by Micaiah Carter. Ty Dolla $ign's vocals and aura complement serpentwithfeet's sonic and aesthetic vision perfectly, elevating the ethereality of the track. "What’s your fantasy? / Girl tell me your fantasy / I wanna know," he croons on his verse.

"Damn Gloves" is just a glimpse into the universe serpentwithfeet has created on GRIP – which, as an album, pays homage to the spirit and magic of Black queer nightlife. GRIP is set to release on February 16, 2024, and will mark serpentwithfeet's first long-form release since DEACON in 2021.

Stream "Damn Gloves" on Spotify and Apple Music now. Apple Music also indicates the entirety of GRIP's 10-song tracklist as well.

Elsewhere in the music world, J. Cole has officially announced the dates for 2024's Dreamville Festival.
