A man arrested in connection with the disappearance of student Libby Squire has denied carrying out a sex act out in public and stealing sex toys, knickers and condoms from his neighbours.

Pawel Relowicz, 24, appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Court accused of voyeurism, outraging public decency and burglary and has been remanded in custody for the offences, unrelated to the missing student.

Relowicz appeared in court charged with masturbating in a public place, watching another person ‘doing a private act’ for his own sexual gratification, and stealing vibrators, sex toys, knickers, condoms, photographs and computer equipment from people’s homes.

Relowicz, of Raglan Street, Hull, entered not guilty pleas to all charges at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The married dad-of-two was arrested on suspicion of abduction on Wednesday night in connection with Libby’s disappearance and police said he ‘remains under investigation’.

Libby, 21, was reported missing on 1 February and an intensive search has been conducted by police since that time.

Relowicz stood in the dock throughout the hearing wearing a grey sweatshirt.

Speaking through a Polish interpreter, he confirmed his name, address, date of birth and not guilty pleas to the five charges.

Members of the media filled the two rows of seats in the public gallery and stood crowded at the back of the courtroom.

Bill Waddington, representing Relowicz, said he would not be making a bail application for his client.

District Judge Fred Rutherford told the defendant: ‘You have entered your not guilty pleas before this court.

‘The matters are too serious for this court and will be sent to Crown Court.

‘You are remanded in custody to Hull Crown Court.’

He told Relowicz he would appear at the Crown Court on March 11.
