Police have released an image of a man they want to find after 12-year-old Keaton Slater was killed in a hit-and-run in Coventry on Friday.

Keaton died after being hit by a BMW on the city’s Radford Road around 4.30pm that day.

Now police have appealed to the public to help them find Dolars Aleksanders, 21, who is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘If you have seen him, or know where he is, please do not approach him but call 999 immediately, quoting log 3407 of June 14.’

Sergeant Rich Evans previously urged those involved in the fatal collision to ‘do the right thing’ and come forward.

The car involved has already been located, but no arrests have yet been made.

Sergeant Evans said: ‘We would appeal to the driver or for any of the passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and to contact us.

‘A 12-year-old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and hand yourselves in.’

He added: ‘We are helping to support the family at this very difficult time as they try to comprehend what has happened.’

Keaton’s father, Clint, posted a heartbreaking message on Facebook after the death of his son, who he described as ‘the light and soul of our little family’.

He wrote: ‘With the heaviest of heartache I’ve never ever felt in my life, my youngest son was killed in a hit run at 4.30pm (Friday) on the Radford Rd. Age 12.

‘He was my mini me he was the light and soul of our little family.

‘We can’t believe that this has happened still expecting him to come barging in the room like the life of the fun he was. I’m so broken right now. RIP my youngest boy.’

Keaton’s older brother Josh Slater posted on Facebook: ‘RIP baby brother. You was the best uncle to my little Theo.

‘And an amazing little brother to me. We will get you the Justice you deserve. Fly high and ill see you on the other side little brother. We loved you so much and we are all heartbroken.’
