Police want to speak to these 20 people over fatal shooting of teenager at rave

Police have released images of 20 people they want to speak to three years after the fatal shooting of an an 18-year-old at a rave in London.

Alex Ajanaku was gunned down outside an illegal rave in Leyton, east London, in the early hours of September 1, 2021.

The teenager was sat on a bench with others on the Beaumount Estate.

CCTV images of 20 people who were in the area the night that Alex was shot have now been issued, as the Met Police launch a fresh appeal for information that could help with the investigation.

The shots fired are believed to have come from a stolen black Kia Sportage, which was found abandoned and fire damaged in Walthamstow.

Alex’s mother previously said her life was ‘completely devastated’ by the murder of her young son, adding she ‘loved him so much’ and misses him ‘every day’.

Up to £20,000 is being offered by the Met for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution for those responsible for the murder of the teenager.

Four arrests have already been made as part of the investigation, but police are still looking out for the people responsible for Alex’s death.

Detective Sergeant Fenton Davis said: ‘Alex was at a music event on the estate the previous evening and a large number of people would have been there.

‘At about 11.50pm on August 31, 2021 there was an incident on the estate when a moped rider with pillion passenger rode through the event and it caused the crowd to disperse.

‘Did you see this incident? Whilst we do not believe the incident with the moped was the catalyst for Alex’s murder, we want to build up as detailed a picture as possible as to what occurred on the estate that night.’

He added: ‘Any piece of information could be crucial to the investigation.

‘Please do the right thing and call us. A reward of up to £20,000 is on offer for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Alex’s murder.’
