A University of Missouri student has gone missing after being kicked out of a bar during a trip to Nashville.

Riley Strain, 22, was last seen by his friends getting booted from Luke Bryan’s 32 Food + Bridge on Broadway on Friday, states a missing persons report for him.

Strain told his friends that he was heading back to their hotel, his stepfather, Christopher Whiteid, told The St Louis Dispatch.

‘The bartender said he had been overserved,’ Whiteid told WZTV. ‘He was trying to pay his tab.’

But Strain did not appear at the hotel or communicate with his friends, leading them to file a missing persons report the following day.

Strain is believed to have gone in the wrong direction while trying to find his hotel.

CCTV released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Tuesday showed Strain stumbling across 1st Avenue North to Gay Street at 9.47pm. Strain looked at other pedestrians on the street and made a 360-degree turn before walking down the sidewalk, the video shows.

‘Detectives today continue to pursue tips and investigative leads concerning missing person Riley Strain,’ wrote the police department on Facebook.

On Monday, university officials stated that they were alerted over the weekend that Strain went missing after traveling ‘to attend a private event’.

‘The safety of our community is our highest priority,’ said Angela King Taylor, interim vice chancellor for student affairs.

‘Our thoughts are with Riley’s family as the search continues. We will be offering any support to them that we can, and we encourage anyone who needs help to reach out to our counseling resources.’

Strain went to the Music City for his fraternity’s spring formal, the university’s associate director of public affairs Travis Zimpher told USA TODAY on Tuesday.

‘We’re hopeful to hear something,’ said Zimpher.

Strain’s mother, Michelle Whiteid, told FOX 17 it ‘is not like him at all’ not to call or text.

Cops searched the banks by the Cumberland River and did not find anything.

Strain is 6-foot-5 and was wearing a two-tone shirt.

Anyone with information on Strain’s whereabouts is urged to contact the police department.
