Hong Kong shivers in coldest day this winter
Hong Kong experienced its coldest day so far this winter, with the observatory recording a minimum temperature of 11.5 degrees at its Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters on Saturday. The mercury dipped even lower in parts of the New Territories. Earlier, the forecaster warned of possible frost on Saturday morning, on high ground or in the northern part of the New Territories. However, hikers in Tai Mo Shan told RTHK that they hadn't seen any frost overnight. "It would create a really memorable experience. We'll take some photos if we see it. There's a small chance it could happen, but I won't be disappointed if we don't see it," said a hiker. The observatory reminded the public to wrap up warm and maintain proper indoor ventilation, adding that chilly weather is expected on Sunday morning.
