Goosebumps' Jayden Bartels on 'vulnerable' episode that 'will touch people's hearts'
Jayden Bartels, the star of Goosebumps: The Vanishing, is set to captivate audiences in the second season of the spine-tingling series on Disney+ and Hulu.
The show, inspired by RL Stine's legendary books, sees Bartels stepping into the limelight as she takes on a challenging new role.
Previously known for her roles in Disney Channel's Coop and Cami Ask the World and Nickelodeon's Side Hustle, Bartels has risen to prominence with her musical talents on TikTok. Now, she embarks on her boldest venture yet.
In the series, she stars opposite Friends legend David Schwimmer, playing the character Cece in the gripping Young Adult supernatural thriller. The show makes its return this week, bringing viewers more chilling adventures and a fresh supernatural enigma.
Bartels truly comes into her own in the fourth episode, where the narrative skillfully intertwines Cece's struggles with anxiety and the relentless pursuit of success with a chilling new menace from the Goosebumps universe.

"So, diving deep into showing that and being vulnerable with that and showing what it's like for a human to realise their self-worth doesn't come from anything outside of themselves was really an honour, honestly."
Bartels also hinted at the profound impact of the upcoming episode's themes, adding: "I think Cece is going to touch so many people's hearts.
"Because she is really just trying her best, which sounds cliche but it's beautiful to watch her going from putting so much pressure on herself to letting herself breathe for once."

Portrayed by Sam McCarthy, the on-screen twins were said to have bickered incessantly during filming, though they shared a profound connection off-set.
"We both have very different lives and very different ways of thinking and doing things, but we understand each other and we get each other," revealed Bartels about their off-camera relationship.
Although disagreements were common, the stars recognised a deep mutual understanding that naturally infused into their characters' interactions on the show: "We may disagree, but we do understand. It just played into Cece and Devin.
"We were both so excited and open to this role that the energy... there were no walls or blocking. We came in so happy to be there that it was just such a comfortable place. Also, we didn't stress about it, we just went in."

We would bicker about, like acting techniques, all the time."
"Acting techniques, lifestyle, professional choices..." McCarthy interjected.
"Thoughts, you, me, who we are!" laughed Bartels, showcasing the playful yet deep bond between them. "Also, I would go to him for advice, there were many long talks."

Bartels then added with a laugh: "But secretly you're like, 'Hmm, you might be right!' That's literally how it is."
Fans of spine-tingling tales are in for a treat as the cherished horror novels are revived on screen, complete with chilling thrills and a hearty dose of emotion.
Those who relish a good scare should not miss out on what promises to be one of the early streaming highlights of 2025.
