Porsche Reveals New 473 HP Iteration of the 911 Carrera S
Porsche has introduced the latest iteration of the 911 Carrera S, positioning it as a bridge between the standard 911 Carrera and the high-performance 911 Carrera GTS.
Under the hood, the updated 3L twin-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine now delivers 353 kW (473 hp) and 390 lb-ft of torque — an increase of nearly 30 hp over its predecessor. This power boost comes courtesy of redesigned turbochargers and improved charge-air cooling. Paired with Porsche’s eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), the Carrera S is capable of 0-62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph.
Handling and stopping power are equally impressive, thanks to Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) and a braking system derived from the previous-generation Carrera GTS. Standard red brake calipers clamp onto large discs — 408 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear. Optional upgrades include the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system and rear-axle steering for even sharper handling.
Inside, the Carrera S blends performance with luxury. The cabin features premium black leather upholstery across the seats, dashboard and door panels. Optional upgrades extend leather coverage and add contrast stitching in Crayon. Modern conveniences include Matrix LED headlights, a wireless smartphone charger and optional Sport Chrono and front-axle lift systems.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera S is available to order now in both Coupé and Cabriolet variants, via authorized Porsche dealers and the automaker's official site.
