Ruben Amorim appears to have played a pivotal role in plugging Manchester United's irritating team news leaks after addressing the matter openly, which has been echoed by the club. The Red Devils experienced an embarrassing gaffe when their line-up for the seismic clash against Manchester City last year was accurately leaked on social media, sparking widespread speculation about a mole within Old Trafford.

Following his appointment to replace Erik ten Hag last November, Amorim tackled the issue head-on during a press conference. There have been no such leaks since Amorim's comments and the club shared their concerns, according to the Daily Mail. This achievement is partly due to the club's proactive stance but also because of the staunch disapproval from the Man United faithful.

Accounts known for divulging early team sheets on social platforms have gone to ground following intense criticism from fellow supporters, reports the Mirror. Addressing the debacle back in December, Amorim said: "I know that story."

He added: "I don't know, I think it's impossible to fix nowadays because you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents. You can talk with friends, so it's hard to know. It's not a good thing but let's move on and go to the next one and see if they find the next starting XI."

The same report claims that Manchester United were frustrated by 'baseless' allegations accusing Amad and Alejandro Garnacho of leaking insider details. Both players, reportedly incensed by the accusations, were apparently on the brink of a public rebuttal but were convinced by the club to hold back.

Amorim will hope he has seen the last of the dressing room leaks, which was something Jose Mourinho and Erik ten Hag had to deal with during their reigns especially since he has plenty of other issues to contend with off the pitch, namely the futures of some of his key stars.

Among those possibly exiting the Theatre of Dreams is Marcus Rashford, hot on the heels of discussions between his agent and AC Milan. Similarly, Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund are also reportedly facing an uncertain future.

Ahead of an impressive 2-2 draw against Liverpool, Amorim spoke about the challenges facing the club. "It's a really tough moment for everybody," the Portuguese boss admitted.

"And I think the players are losing everything, the small things that we try to work on in training, after one goal, they lose everything because they don't have the base, we don't have time to build the base to cope with the difficult moments. So it's really hard in this moment."
