West Ham make Chelsea-like promise to Graham Potter as part of unique contract talks
Graham Potter, the former Chelsea manager, is reportedly in line for a promise of new signings if he decides to take the reins at West Ham. In the wake of a crushing 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, boss Julen Lopetegui's future hangs by a thread as the Hammers hover worryingly over the relegation zone with just a seven-point cushion.
With the club plunged into negotiations with potential successors, Potter is seemingly being courted as the likeliest new Hammers manager - being offered similar assurances to when he left Brighton for Chelsea in 2022.
According to The Times, Potter has been told that he will be well-backed in the transfer window this month if he takes control of the Hammers to ensure he has enough firepower to steer the club to safety.

Furthermore, rumours swirl that Potter has been offered an unusual short-term contract until the end of the season, hinting at West Ham's concerns about their Premier League status.

The 49-year-old has also been linked with the managerial role at Everton following rumours of Sean Dyche's position being under review after new owners took over the club.
Potter first gained attention for his remarkable achievements with Swedish side Ostersunds, guiding them up three divisions and securing the Swedish Cup, before accepting positions at Swansea and Brighton. His arrival at Stamford Bridge was met with great anticipation, but his tenure lasted less than seven months due to a series of disappointing results.
