Call the Midwife 'exit sealed' as fans beg much-loved nurse to stay in Poplar
Call the Midwife fans have been left fearing for Nancy Corrigan(Megan Cusack) future at Nonnatus House after the nurse planned to get married following a shotgun proposal.
During the latest episode of the BBC drama (Sunday 5), Nancy and new love Roger Nobel (Conor O’Donnell) announced their plans to get married in six months following a whirlwind romance.
The midwife and the pharmaceutical salesman met during the recent Christmas special and their relationship shows no hint of slowing down.
Nancy also confirmed that she had received the same job offer from 18 months ago, complete with the same little house, which is perfect timing considering she'll want to live with her daughter and new husband after they tie the knot.
She excitedly told her fellow nurses and the nuns at Nonnatus House about her future plans, but doubt was cast when Roger's mother Esther (Andrea Irvine) objected to the wedding citing religious views.

After making a suprise appearance in Poplar, Esther told Nancy: "He implied you were respectable," as Nancy quickly chimed in: "I am completely respectable."
But Esther hastily continued: "You're an unmarried mother," but again Nancy interrupted: "I was also reared by nuns and I still live in a convent."
"It is of no consolation to me that you're Roman Catholic," Ester added before throwing a barrage of questions Nancy's way and confirmed she thought Roger was making a mistake.
