Bruno Fernandes 'pretty upset' after Liverpool draw as he calls out Man Utd stars

Bruno Fernandes was far from content with Manchester United’s performance despite securing a hard-fought draw against rivals Liverpool. The captain expressed his frustration that the team does not display such strong performances consistently, with boss Ruben Amorim equally 'mad'.

Amad Diallo's crucial late goal salvaged a point for the Red Devils in a riveting four-goal spectacle at Anfield, preventing Liverpool from stretching their lead to eight points at the summit of the Premier League.

The result also halted a worrying trend of four consecutive losses for Amorim's squad, as they managed to stifle a Liverpool side that has been exceptional this season.

Reflecting on the outcome, Fernandes didn’t hold back: "We can’t be satisfied to be honest. I'm pretty upset because if we show this today at Anfield against Liverpool, that is first in the league and has been probably the outstanding team in the Premier League this season, why we can't do this every week?

"It’s just really frustrating for me personally, as I feel like I finally put in a complete performance. We need to take a long, hard look at ourselves because it isn’t enough."

Meanwhile, Portuguese manager Amorim pondered how his team could step up after recent league defeats at the hands of Newcastle, Wolves, Bournemouth, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest since his appointment.

Manager Arne Slot dismissed the idea that Trent's performance was affected by Real Madrid's unsuccessful attempt to sign him earlier in the week. The Liverpool boss stated: "I think Trent has played mostly very good games for this club and there have been games when he probably wasn’t at his best and today wasn't his best game.

"But it probably had to do with them [United] as well, especially the first half. Sometimes Ryan [Gravenberch] wasn’t close enough to him and so sometimes he was in a two v one situation as well."
