Man dies after falling backwards on escalator

A 36-year-old man died on Sunday after reportedly fainting and falling backwards while on an escalator in Sha Tin. Officers said the victim's mother reported the incident at the Sha Kok Estate at around 2pm. The man was reportedly going up on the escalator connecting a wet market and a shopping mall. And as he fell backwards, he hit a 65-year-old woman who suffered a minor injury. The man was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
