BBC accidentally cuts to presenter's secret conversation in awkward live blunder

BBC accidentally airs conversation while live on air

The BBC has been mocked on social media for their blunder after accidentally airing a secret conversation.

During Friday’s broadcast, presenter Anna Foster welcomed viewers to a live broadcast of BBC News at One, which featured the latest national and international news.

However, as she shared an update about adult social care, the journalist was abruptly cut from screens.

Anna informed viewers: “Adult social care in England is unlikely to be reformed for at least three years.

“The government has confirmed that an independent …” but before she could finish her sentence, the broadcast cut to two other Newsline presenters having a conversation.

The journalists were seemingly preparing for their broadcast, as a member of production could be seen adjusting a seat behind the famous newsdesk.

The presenters looked as though they were greeting each other for the first time this year as one waved and said: “Hello, how are you? Happy New Year.”

However, before they could delve into their conversation, someone off-camera could be heard saying: “Sorry Jenny,” before cutting back to Anna.

Anna seemed to be unaware of the unexpected disruption to viewers as she continued to discuss the government's plans for adult social care.

The live blunder was shared on social media, where a viewer mocked the error and captioned the clip: “Happy New Year, Jenny!”

Another praised the X user for posting the clip and urged: “Please keep posting these bloopers, I think they brighten people's days, (or at least mine!).”

As a third viewer noted the presenters were “prepping for the Signed News Summary from @bbcnewsline!!!”

Anne and the BBC seemed to ignore the blunder as it wasn’t addressed during the remainder of the broadcast.
