LG Unveils "World's First Bendable 5K2K Gaming Monitor" For 2025

With the highly-anticipated CES 2025 technology conference around the corner, LG has already unveiled the crown jewel of its forthcoming releases: the UltraGear GX9 45GX990A gaming monitor. The most unusual feature about the release is the 45" screen's literal ability to bend to the user's needs.

The new device, which won Best of Innovation in the Gaming & eSports category, is an "all-in-one smart gaming monitor" equipped with LG webOS. LG has claimed it is the "world's first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor" with the ability to curve to 900R for a seamlessly immersive gaming experience.

With a 21:9 format and 5K2K resolution, users can expect sharp, well-balanced visuals, enhanced by a four-sided-borderless frame. Additionally, on dual-mode users can easily change resolution and refresh rate presets, and customize the aspect ratio and picture size.

“The UltraGear GX9 series sets a new standard for OLED gaming monitors, combining groundbreaking display technology with smart features that expand and enhance the user experience,” said YS Lee, vice president of the IT Business Unit at LG.

The first in-person demonstration of the bendable screen will happen at CES 2025 in the first week of January. Full details on the release are expected to arrive in early 2025, so stay tuned to Hypebeast for further updates.
