BBC Strictly's Chris McCausland lets slip Dianne Buswell's illness during show

Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland has spoken out about his co-star and professional dance partner Dianne Buswell's nightmare virus during their time on the BBC One dance show.

The victorious duo lifted the 2024 Glitterball trophy earlier this month, capturing the hearts of the nation with their impeccable routines and undeniable chemistry.

Chris graced BBC's The One Show on Friday (December 20) evening to discuss his new film, Bad Tidings, alongside fellow funnyman Lee Mack. Yet, before presenters Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne could delve into the festive flick, they seized the opportunity to chat Strictly with the newly crowned champion.

As footage of Chris and Dianne's ballroom brilliance played, The 1% Club star Lee Mack couldn't resist jesting about Chris' audacious wardrobe selection in one unforgettable Strictly moment.

Taking a light-hearted dig, Lee—who was present to witness Chris and Dianne's triumph at the grand finale on December 14—teased: "I was just watching that clip again of you dressed in that white suit, which is a very brave colour for a man of your age, Chris."

In turn, Chris shared a frank turn of events as he recounted: "That white suit was for the couples choice and the first time we did that Dianne had been up all night with a virus out of both ends so it was very brave to wear white the first time around.", reports Surrey Live.

Alex and Lauren were taken aback by Chris' candid revelation about Dianne, prompting Lee to jest: "Oh the glamour. At least you're not telling everyone on national television ey."

Chris retorted with a quick-witted remark, downplaying his own disclosure: "This is pre-recorded isn't it?"
