Engineered Garments SS25 Is "Evoking the Spirit of the Lost Generation"
To close out 2024, Engineered Garments is looking to the past. The Daiki Suzuki-helmed imprint is envisioning the ethos and aesthetics of the Lost Generation of the 1920s for its Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Aptly entitled "Evoking the Spirit of the Lost Generation," the compilation of clothing draws influence from prominent Lost Generation persona Ernest Hemingway, reimagining the writer's signature style through the Engineered Garments' design lens.
"[Hemingway's] lifestyle and vision share many elements with the concepts behind our clothing. From the African savannas and plains, Atlantic expanse of Key West to the social circles of Paris. His unique style pervades every scenario and forms the foundation of the clothing we love," Engineered Garments wrote in a statement announcing the release.
"For the Spring/Summer 2025 season, we blend Hemingway’s distinctive lifestyle with the essence of Engineered Garments — old-school hunting, fishing, and classic American leisure styles — to propose a new city safari."
With that sentiment at the core of the collection, Evoking the Spirit of the Lost Generation taps into Hemingway's love of animals – specifically his adoration for marlin and cats – and places a gecko as the leading motif. Led by a lineup of tailored jacketing and printed outerwear, garments come equipped with deep pocketing and tactical closure and adjustability features.
